Privacy policy
coloq.ai is an AI exam-authoring tool for university faculty. This page describes what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. The language here is intentionally plain — if anything is unclear, email privacy@coloq.ai and we will explain in detail.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address, full name, organization affiliation (if any), and the locale you prefer. When you upload a PDF we store the file, its extracted text, and any AI-generated questions it produces. We log basic request metadata (timestamps, IP addresses, user agents) for security and abuse prevention. We do not use cookies for advertising.
How we use it
Your uploads and generated questions are used solely to power your workspace — drafting questions, showing them back to you, and exporting exams. We do not sell your content, and we do not train shared models on it. Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics may be used to improve the product (for example, which question types are most frequently rejected).
Subprocessors
We rely on a small number of vendors to operate the service: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Vercel (web hosting), Render (backend hosting), Inngest (background job queue), Anthropic and Google (LLM providers for question generation), and Langfuse (LLM observability). Each vendor receives only the data strictly required to do its job, and each is contractually bound to handle it accordingly.
Retention
We keep your uploads and generated questions until you delete them or close your account. Operational logs are retained for up to 90 days. Backups are retained for up to 30 days after deletion. You can request a full export or full deletion at any time by emailing privacy@coloq.ai.
Your rights
If you are a resident of the EU, UK, Canada, or another jurisdiction with a personal-data protection regime, you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@coloq.ai from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.
